Confusing information

I have been diagnosed with invasive ducal carcinoma. When I saw my consultant two weeks ago I was informed that it would involve either a lumpectomy or mastectomy and drugs for five years. Although I was shocked with the news I could see some light at the end of the tunnel, but now I have been told I have to have a bone scan and a CT scan as they think it has spread and I'm beside myself with worry and can't sleep or rest and now feel that the tunnel is total darkness and there is not going to be a way out for me other than it all being over.

  • Hello Kat54,

I am so sorry to hear that. I just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you and hope that you won't have to wait too long for these scans so you get some clarity on this.

Try and get some rest and sleep if you can though I can imagine it is hard for you to do so at the moment and perhaps it would be a good idea to talk to your GP about how anxious this is making you feel and how tired you are feeling at the moment from worry and lack of sleep.

We're keeping everything crossed for you. Keep us updated if you get a chance on your scan results.

    Best wishes,
