Bleeding after 10 yrs tamoxifen

Hi, I stopped taking tamoxifen after 10 yrs at the beginning of this year. I was put into my menopause with chemo. I have had slight bleeding for a few months and tests have proved ok. I then didn't bleed for a few months but now have started again like a full on period very heavy. Has anyone experienced this? I didn't bleed my whole time on tamoxifen and am worrying now. X

    I'm sorry to hear that you've had some bleeding since stopping Tamoxifen. It is important that you speak to your GP about this so that they can arrange any necessary tests.

    Hi there. I'm off tamoxifen about 18 months after ten years on it and my periods are now occasionally very heavy. They were quite light while I was on it. I'm premenopausal and had periods through taking tamoxifen, not bang on every month, sometimes quite regular and sometimes with an interval of less than four weeks or up to six weeks. If anything they've got a bit more regular but often heavier as I said. I'm in my late 40s now. I also had some spotting mid-cycle a couple of weeks ago. Has anyone had similar experience? Is there anything to worry about?

    I'm premenopausal and I finished 10 years on tamoxifen in jan 2021. I did have periods all the way through the 10 years but not regular like every month or I  could go 6 months with nothing. Now I am regular and so so heavy, flooding I don't even want to go out, I'm 44 now and it's a nightmare ! But after being ER & PR positive for BC I don't see what they can do it's not like I can go on the pill or implant or anything, I'm not worried I just hate it all bar a oopherectomy/ hysterectomy I have no idea what they can do. ‍♀️

    Hi 

    Have you asked your doctor about traxemic  acid tablets, they can be taken during your period and can reduce bleeding. I have been on tamoxifen for a year now , I hadn't had a period for 9 months and have now had one . The doctor had prescribed them previously for heavy periods and said they were fine to have with tamoxifen. I picked them up from the pharmacist and then my periods stopped before I could try them. May have to use now as this first period is so so heavy . Like you fear going out
