Lump on throat

Hi, I'm new to this forum and wouldn't usually post on these things but at the moment I'm struggling.

I'm 30 and a few months ago woke with a lump on my neck (central/more to the left side thyroid). The lump seemed to disappear so didn't take much notice, but a few weeks ago it came back and had been there since.

I went to my gp and he referred me to the hospital,  I had blood tests which came back normal. I am currently awaiting a scan appointment (was put on a 2 week referral 5 days ago).

However, over the past couple of days I have been really struggling, the lump seems so big, I have a choking feeling, whenever I eat it feels like its stuck in my throat, constantly feeling like I need to clear my throat, I feel so tired and hot 1 minute and normal the next without a fever.

I guess my reason for posting is to see if anyone else has experienced any of this and is there and way of relieving these symptoms whilst awaiting appointments. Thank-you.
