Good evening,
I would really appreciate some guidance and advice.
I have noticed a lump to the side of my throat next to where your Adam's apple would be, it's painless but has got bigger in the last couple of months. About the size of a 5p piece. It kind of clicks if I push on it slightly. I can't feel anything on the other side. Sometimes I feel like there's a pressure on that side and my ear feels a bit heavy/ achy.
I got a sore throat last month and now again the last two days.
I have had a really tough time with my doctors surgery who I don't feel are very competent (which is adding to my anxiety) (Not bashing the NHS as I work for them and grateful for all staff do just aware how you can be spoken to and treated and don't feel I've had that given to me....anyway I digress)
I went in to be examined and told I'd be referred to my endocrine consultant as I've suffered with over active thyroid and post partum thyroiditis before, I have benign nodules on my thyroid as well. Long story cut short it's taken weeks for me to be seen because of various issues. I had an ultrasound done last week and bloods, the sonographer was lovely and said she couldn't see anything on my thyroid and that she couldn't see anything around where the lump is. I'm waiting on my blood results to come back - which I'm guessing will be fine as well. Obviously this is a good thing but I don't feel I've been properly examined and worrying something has been missed? Is this just anxiety? Or am I within my right to ask for further tests? Am I wasting people's time? My nanna has just got over throat cancer and hers started with a lump so I'm just working myself up something chronic.
thanks for reading.
