I am in your exact same position!

I had my biopsy follow up appt yesterday and was told that although my lump came back as benign, they want to be absolutely confident and have booked me in for wide local excision surgery (although a date has not yet been confirmed) - biopsy was graded B3.

The surgeon seemed positive about it all, and said that although the chance is really low, if some cancerous cells were found, they would be at a very early stage which is good news (well, at least much better than what I thought they might have been).

It would be nice to keep in touch and share our experiences as we go through this.

I actually don't remember the doctor saying anything about abnormal cells. He used the term atypical (not sure if medically speaking they are equivalent) and I am pretty confident he said they didn't find any atypical cells. 
 

I was more focused on the positive stuff like low chance of it resulting malignant once removed, and that even if it is, it would be at a very early stage. 
 

I'm not very happy about getting surgery under general anaesthesia, but it's the price to pay to be on the safe side. how do you feel? Do you have a date yet? sorry, I have not read all the posts and might have missed out on the surgery date.

I had so many questions but now I feel a lot calmer, thank you all.

I suppose I had expected my appointment to be very black and white with a clear answer to if you have cancer or not, so when it wasn't definitive I worried.

I don't have a date for my surgery yet, I'm not looking forward to it but I can't wait to have it all done.

Hello everyone. This is my first post on here and I think I'm in a similar situation. I'm 25 and I found out yesterday that they have found B3 lesions, so I'm being brought in again for a more invasive biopsy of some kind. I don't have many details because  I had to call them, rather than receiving a letter. This is because I had heard nothing by three weeks after my initial biopsies. I feel very panicked and distrustful because of a number of a number of personal bad experiences with hospitals and doctors wnd when I phoned yesterday, they said the doctor should have sent me a letter a week ago, but must have forgotten to do it - this only worried me more.

I am trying to be logical and sensible, so the B3 lesions are not my biggest concern. My biggest concern is that I have separately been referred for an ultrasound of some lymph nodes in my jaw that have been hard, painless and present for months now (won't be seen for about 6 more weeks) as well as another separate referral for a potential pressure coming from something in my optic nerve (awaiting results currently). Because of those referrals, my biggest worry is that the b3 lesions are part of something worse somewhere else in my body that hasn't been discovered yet. 
 

I'm struggling to eat and really finding it hard to think about anything else at all. I have also been finding it really hard to take a deep breath (I'm wondering if that is because I'm so upset and worried about the other things). Sorry to share all of these sad things and thank you for taking the time to read my message.

I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through and especially with your lack of trust in your doctors.

I wish I could offer some comforting words and advice... but it's just *** isn't it.

It is positive that no cancer was found in your initial biopsy.

Did they mention some other reasons why your lymph nodes might be hard?
