Hello everyone,

For last 2 months I have had continuing sore throat, and ear pressure/pain/loud tinnitus in left ear and to a lesser extent in the right ear. I come over 'cold' quite often and feel a bit shaky at these times.

I have consulted my GP several times and been referred for an MRI (delayed by Covid) - no ear infection or throat problems found by GP. I have been repeatedly informed that reflux/GORD would not affect my ears (grrr - I disagree!). This view was endorsed by a consultant who said it definitely wasn't reflux/GORD and gave me a lecture about tinnitus advising that it was purely tinnitus and ignoring my other symptoms. I had mild tinnitus in my left ear before this latest episode but now I have loud ringing in both ears.

I don't agree that it can't be reflux because I have had it before in a less serious way. Omeprazole which worked before is not working with my latest symptoms. I also have a sliding hernia in my oesophagus.

Any advice would be greatfully received!
