Didn't think l would be on this forum again,

Hi,a bit about myself. 69 year old ,widow, loves Zumba, dancing, walking. Two children, five grandchildren,no family living near. I have always thought of myself as healthy, the odd cold that always turned into a cough, bronchitis every winter as a child, slight asthma years ago. Well l have a long term cough, off to GP two weeks ago, thinks maybe asthma, can't do blow test these covid days. Perscription for inhaler and a form for an X-ray, which l have. Two days later he rings, slight shadow on lung ,X-ray not very clear,he says he never exspected that! A weeks antibiotics ,wants another X-ray end of November . Finished meds yesterday, think wheeze a little better but still coughing. Thinking the worse as two years ago went through this with my husband,,lung cancer. Tumour was large when diagnosed, ill health meant no op,chemo then radiotherapy . Treatment all over Christmas 2018 ,shrunk the tumour but by then it had gone to his brain. He died May 2019, he was a smoker of many years but not in the house. I have never smoked but of course back in the day the pubs and clubs were full of it.So l am not in a good place at the moment but what will be will be.

  • Hi Thisisme,

I'm sorry to read what you're going through at the moment, I can imagine the uncertainty must be difficult. Try not to assume worst case scenarios although I know this is very much easier said than done. The waiting for further tests and information is always difficult so I hope you're able to learn more about this before too long.

We're always here for support on this forum if you need it at any point, or even if it's just a case of writing down any thoughts or worries.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
