Worried

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has shared the same symptoms as I am currently having.

All started a month ago with intense on off pains in the stomach which lasted around 3 hours, since then I've found a few lumps on right side on belly with pain on the rib cage. I have a lipoma under the nipple but never had any issues with it so seems this could be different. Recently I had a blood test revealing low folate and B12 levels which I had to take a course of tablets and injections for and a stool sample which came back fine. I've had such a low mood for the last few weeks where I seem so much more tired now than before I had the injections. Drs took a scan of my organs and said they all look healthy so I'm lost to what I should do next.If anyone knows what this may be or what I can suggest to my gp to look for please get back to me.

  • Hi lovely.

I've been suffering from a similar thing over the last few months also... Well sort of since April really. On and off. Started off with finding a little lump in my groin which turned out to be a lymph node which had worked it's way up to the surface of the skin. Had ultrasound to check and all fine.

Then I started experiencing a dull ache in my left side of my abdomin. This has been intermittent since June , sometimes it can last days and then eases off a bit.

The pain is now radiating around to my back, ribs and between my hip bone and belly button...

I've had blood tests in April as I was getting really bad night sweats as well and all of that came back negative.

I've had an ultrasound on my tummy (full abdomen scan along with a transvaginal ultrasound (internal,) ) and all of that came back negative too.

I've been to see a physio to check if there is muscle tightness and they couldn't find anything that needed tweaking either my next route is possibly an osteopath? But I'm also thinking of getting private health insurance and going down the private route, to get a CT/MRI scan just to give me peace of mind. I'm an active person, never really worry about much, I've never really been ill or had chronic pain like this before and it's not like me at all. It's getting me so depressed that I'm not eating properly and it's impacting on my daily life. I am also drained and so tired, all I want to do when I get home from work is sleep.

Do you have any other symptoms? Does anything trigger the pain? Does it hurt when you go to the toilet/eat/have a full stomach/lay down/etc etc?

I don't have any other symptoms just the pain and that's why the GPs don't want to investigate further.

Hope to hear from you and it's nice to know we are not alone!

    Xx

  • Hi CornishG

sorry to hear of your troubles. I suffer with acid reflux which I was taking Omperazole for but recent call with GP he's changed it to lansoprazole so hopefully that settles. MY GP settled some of my anxieties this week by explaining what I've already been tested for ruling out colon cancer, colitis and crohns which is good news but leaves me in limbo once more. Honestly I think a large part of my tiredness is stress and constant worrying that I'm going to find something out which would be a terminal illness.

Also been told that they're going to to a endoscopy(awful to have btw) to look for Ulcers in stomach and a scan on the lumps indivually to check they're nothing bad.

I stay clear of anything spicy, dairy and all ibuprofen at the moment because it seems to make my stomach burn awfully.

The pains I have seen to ease if I'm laying down on my back but gradually get worse throughout the day especially at work.

  • Do you have an appointment for endoscopy?

I had blood test yesterday which the doctor's phoned with the results the same day. My white blood cell count is low and they found traces of inflammation/swelling etc in my blood tests too.

Next stage is a stool sample first thing on Monday and blood tests again in 2 weeks to see if anything has changed.

Generally I feel ok, tired and lost my motivation to do anything I used to like doing. It's just the discomfort I've been getting which is impacting my life a bit.

I've lost my appetite too which is why I think I'm loosing weight. Hopefully will know more next week.

How old are you if you don't mind me asking? X

  • No appointment yet only got told of the plan Friday but I'm not holding my breath for it to be anytime this year more than likely be a long wait.

I'm the same as you currently just can't be bothered to do anything. I personally think my issues could be down to IBS maybe Gastritis and a whole lot of worrying and making myself worse(Nightmare for using Dr. google!)

do your symptoms worsen when eating & drinking?

    I've just turned 30
