    Hi Stonehenge,

Welcome to our forum. I have not had Avastin, but Have had Tamoxifen and Letrozole. I took Tamoxifen for 1 year, but had to stop when I discovered a second primary cancer in the same breast. I then took Letrozole for 6 years and stopped taking this in July 2017.

I first of all developed catarracts due to treatment. Since then I have had 5 operations to my eyes and am now waiting to have laser surgery to reduce the pressure in both eyes. This has been monitored for a few years, whilst I've been using eye drops, but it hasn't settled, so the operation is my next step. Have you been attending an Optometrist? This is certainly worth doing.

    Kind regards,

  • Thank you. I have had eye tests and eye pressure checked and all fine. This is really driving me mad. Its like somebody is pressing down on the top of my head and my eyeballs. Never responds to pain relief.

Could it be that your blood pressure is too high?

I had terrible migraines for years. My GP just treated the migraines, but never looked at the cause. I was eventually refused life insurance because my blood pressure was so high. As soon as I started taking medication for hypertension, my migraines disappeared.

  • Thanks yes my BP is high and I'm on medication for it. I only got this since the Avastin as its a side effect of it. I've had migraines Ince a child. Even though I'm on the medication it seems to be as bad. Never mind. I was hoping to find that others had this as it would solve it. I think it was the Avastin. Take Care

Mention it to your consultant and see what s/he suggests. You may need to change to something else or even to change the medication you're taking for your hypertension.

Can you take your own blood pressure daily for a while? This would show whether or not your blood pressure is stable.

I hope that someone else who has had this experience comes along, as I have no further suggestions.

    Kind regards,
