Need opinions on my weird skin patch touching a mole

Hi,

I'm really sorry but no one on the forum can give you an opinion on what your skin problem is. - no one is qualified to do that. There are many different types of skin complaints and that is why a GP or a dermatologist are the only ones who can diagnose the problem. Please don't assume your GP won't take you seriously - they will either diagnose a skin complaint that they can treat or they will refer you to see a NHS dermatologist. They won't send you away for wasting their time.

In my personal experience I have had moles and unsightly lesions removed over the years. Many of them looked dodgy to me or my dermatologist - after biopsy 5 were found to be benign, one was a Dermatofibroma and one a melanoma. In 24 years of being a Stage 1 and latterly a Stage 3 melanoma patient, I couldn't tell you what a skin lesion is so that's why we leave it up to the clinicians.

I'm sorry that you can't get the peace of mind from forum members. Good luck with your appointment and please let us know how you get on.
