Tamoxifen

I was out in tamoxifen in March following a lumpectomy for stage 2 oestrogen positive breast cancer.

had radiotherapy but not chemo needed.

3 weeks ago my oncologist took me off the meds for 8 weeks because of side effects. Worst being losing my hair- I realise this may seem minor but it is devastating to me.

any one ense experienced this please?

Hi I was in the same boat when I started tamoxifen, I’ve always had really thick hair and it was literally coming out in handfuls and I too was devastated . I’ve tried a couple of brands and finally after 18 months found one that seems to have very little side effects. I suffered with terrible pain in my knee joints and felt like I was 106 not 46! I considered stopping taking them it was so bad. I did have a 4 week break at one point and it seemed to help. Hope you get sorted take care nicky xx

Did you hair improve again? I'm honestly thinking of not taking it again, of everything thus is the one thing I can't cope with.

Hi yes it has, as I say I’ve tried numerous brands and this one seems ok(tilomed). Hope you get sorted, big hugs xxx
