Hi everyone,
I've been reading a lot of this forum since Sunday night when I found quite a large lump in my breast. Left it a couple of days as I've been shifting boxes in work and thought maybe I'd bumped it as it seems to have come from nowhere but by Tuesday I was going out of my mind so had a phone appt with GP on Wed and face-to-face with nurse practitioner who has referred me as red flag, although she felt it was movable so might just be a cyst.
That evening it was announced by the trust that the hospital I'd be referred to belongs to that it has cancelled electives but is still doing red flag as they are gearing up for increased Covid admissions due to a spike in cases in the area. But concerned that I'll be waiting now more than two weeks (the target where I am).
Just really bad timing too, as I'm in the middle of recruitment for a new job that was also held up due to Covid and things are finally moving again. I have to do my security checks in person an hour and a half away which will mean another day off work in addition to the appt, both of which I don't want to tell my boss about at this stage. Haven't told anyone in fact as no point worrying anyone else at this stage and I'll probably have to attend the appointment alone anyway.
What are people's experiences of appointment waiting times at the minute? If your region has a target are they hitting right now? Just need to know either way ASAP so I can have a conversation with new HR about my options (it's a huge recruitment trawl with a merit list so if worst comes to worst hoping they could freeze my place for now) so would be tempted by private diagnosis if it would be quicker
Sorry for the ramble!
