Hello,

I recently went for my first smear test. I have received a letter from the Cervical Screening Administration Service to inform me that I have HPV (human papillomavirus) and changes to some of the cells in my cervix called 'low-grade dyskaryosis'. I have been referred to go for a colposcopy examination. I am absolutely petrified and really worried about the matter. Please can anyone who's gone through a colposcopy tell me what it's like? 

How long did you have to wait for an appointment?

Any information on this matter would be much appreciated. I'm just so scared.
