Gift advice please - what can I give to my grandchildren?

Hi everyone. This isn't really about my (incurable) cancer but it it worrying me none the less as I want to get things sorted.

I have two beautiful grandchildren - a boy aged 6 and a girl aged two and a half.

I am desperate to give them something to remember me by when my time comes.

Easy enough for my granddaughter as I have some lovely rings which she is constantly admiring. The question is what can I get for my grandson? He currently, and has done for a good while, loves to write letters to his family and loves nice pens etc so I was thinking about a good inscribed pen that my daughter can give to him when he is a little older.

Any other ideas please?

Hope you are all managing ok

Ange

  • Hello Ange1956

I think your idea of an inscribed pen for your grandson sounds lovely. It may be that you could write an accompanying letter for him using the pen.

I'm sure that whatever gifts you give to both your grandchildren that they will be cherished as they grow older.

    Best wishes,

  • I agree with that lovely idea of a pen too. Maybe gift it in a box - could be shoebox or wooden memory box (depending how much you want to spend with small keepsakes  such as letter(s) for each grandchild in separate boxes, CDs or other recordings of your voice, etc). When I lost my grandparents I had only a single photo for two of them and one letter from another as I lost them so young. My photo isn't even an original but a scanned copy with fading ink. Even their own framed photos (wrapped in tissue to avoid spoiling) in frames of your choosing, something that is theirs and does not rely on someone else deciding to give/or not. Whatever you are up to arranging. Sending good wishes to you and your family. x
