Looking for help please

Have been thro successful surgery, chemo and radiotherapy and now starting hormonal stuff. Am struggling with nausea and feeling sick with a horrible bitter taste in my mouth. Has anyone experienced this and can give me some advice as to why and what to do to calm it down please. Many thanks.

  • Hello JammieBee

I'm unsure from your post what hormone medication you're taking but I know that medications such as Tamoxifen and Letrozole can cause the side effects that you've mentioned.

It's something that typically for many patients settles with time although I know that some people report finding things improve/change if they're given a different brand of the drug.

I wonder if using something like boiled sweets or mouthwash may help manage the problem with your taste buds at the moment?
If you'd like to give one of our nurses a call for some advice then they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope things settle and improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
