Lump on breast worrying me

I’ve been to the doctor this am with a small lump in my breast, seen the nurse, she then said cos it was slightly hot to the touch compared to the other side she wanted to check about sending me for a mammogram - insert breakdown here - she will call me back in an hour or so once spoken to the gp she thinks it’s a blocked milk duct or a cyst, but just to be safe, she calls me back and says that the GP and nurse have advised that I should use a steroid and antibiotic cream for a week! Surely that means they can’t be that worried? I

  • Welcome to the forum Nforbes although I'm sorry for the reason you're joining us.

If things don't improve after using the steroid and antibiotic cream for a week do be sure to go back and book in with your GP this time as they'll be in a better position to let you know whether this lump is any cause for concern or needs further investigation.

Finding lumps is always a worrying time but many of our members have also been in this position so you're not alone and I'm sure some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

    Hi Nforbes,

I agree with Steph. The chances are that this is just an infection and, if this is so, your creams should do the trick. If they dont, don't hesitate to go back tou see your GP and get referred for further investigation.

This is always a very worrying time, but please keep in touch. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
