HI all

I had a smear test around 3 months ago and they found i was postive for hpv but my smear test was inadequate. Due to this I was asked to go in fot a repeat smear. They had said i would receive my results in 3 weeks and its been 3 weeks and I have not. I called the doctors today and they said the nurse had told them because its a follow up it is normal for it to take longer. 

Does anybody know what she means by this? Its really worried me because I dont know what that means. Is this standard? 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
