Called back again

Hi

i have family history of breast cancer so I have yearly checks, last year I was called back for a 3D mammogram, went last week for my routine yearly check and again I've been called back for 3D, is it that I just always need the 3D mammogram rather than 2d?, or is this that there are changes to last years, just a little worried, thanks in advance x

  • Hopefully some of our members who have a history of breast cancer and have 3D mammograms instead of 2D will share their experiences with you soon Kitkqt but if you feel it may help having a chat with one of our nurses about this then do give them a call on 0808 800 4040.     It may be worth getting in touch your doctor to get their thoughts on this as well.

    Hi Kitkqt,

    I agree with Steph. Have a word with your doctor. S/he will have had, or can contact the department to see if a 3D mammogram might be the way forward for you in order to prevent going through the trauma associated with having to have both each year. They will also know, or can find out whether or not there have been any changes.
