Fallopian tube lesion / solid mass

Hi all,

Hope someone can help or give some reassurance :(

I'll try explain succinctly - lucky to have a healthy baby boy 20 months old. Had a miscarriage in February, following this I had left sided abdominal pain and urinary problems. Had an abdominal ultrasound, which showed 7cm cyst on left ovary. 12 week follow up ultrasounds (transvaginal) showed it had gone, but there was a 2.5cm mass 'with central cystic area' around my right Fallopian tube, they couldn't work out what it is

Had an mri last week which just got the report, says that I have a 'Fallopian tube legion' 2.7cm and it's solid. My gynaecologist will follow it up at the hospital next week and discuss the report and let me know what they think in about 10 days. I also had ca125, beta hcg and alpha fetoprotein bloods done but thankfully these were normal. He did also say because I didn't have a contrast dye when I had the mri maybe it wasn't fully clear

However since googling the fact it's solid is making me worry about cancer and fertility issues, what if it ruptures :( he also said I may need a laprascopy (?) if they can't see what it is and a biopsy. I'm terrified of being put to sleep and needles etc

Has anyone experienced similar or have any knowledge of this. :(

Thank you for reading x

  • Hi Sarah and welcome to the forum.

As many of our members have found out, Dr.Google is not the best person to consult in these situations so if you can try not to use it anymore as it will only make your fears and worries worse.

Hopefully some of our community who have been in a similar situation will share their experiences and advice with you soon.

I hope all goes well when you go through the report with the gynaecologist next week and they're able to put your mind at ease about the next stage of the process.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi,

Really sorry to read your story and I am in a really similar position to you. I had a miscarriage in Feb (luckily have a 26 month old already). I had to have surgery to remove tissue from pregnancy after trying to manage naturally. And then for months I was getting bad cramping once a month. In August I got referred for ultrasound, which showed what they think is blood in fallopian tube. I had an mri 3 weeks ago and have an appt to discuss next steps on Tuesday.

I really hope everything was OK for you. Would you be able to let me know what happened? I'm worried sick about my results.

    Xx
