Waiting for breast clinic appointment

Hello i am 53 and post menopause. i am being refered to the breast clinic by my GP as i have had two very slight bleeds from my nipple.I put off speaking to my Dr as it was so slight and also my husband hasnt been to well so really wanted to concentrate on him. In all honesty it was just a dot, nipple isnt sore at all though it is a little itchy. I had a mammogram in February which was totally clear then an ultrasound which just showed a very small cyst above my nipple. I had a larger cyst drained a couple of years ago which did show up on mammogram. I have yearly checks as have two sisters that have had breast cancer. I feel like im overreacting a little and wondering wether to even go to the appoinment when it comes through. Just wondering if anybody else has had this at all. I am breast aware, do my monthly checks but i cant feel anything untoward . Thanks

  • Hi Gracesmum,

I honestly think you're not overreacting at all! You absolutely should go just incase, you can never be too careful. Try to think positively, I know it's hard but try to. You're being so proactive with your checks already and hopefully it's nothing or it could be something linked to the cyst you had drained? Think positive.
