I’m 25 had a positive HPV test - please help.

Hello,

I went for my first smear last month. My test for HPV came back positive but they found no abnormal cells.

i have to go back in 1 year for another one and see if it's gone. 

anyone else in the same boat? And can help me? 

Will it go away? Do I need to worry about anything?

im 25, I'm healthy, none smoker. I have also had the HPV VACCINE when I was a young teenager which I find odd.

    Hi Louise,

     

    I'm 24 and just had my smear test today due to symptoms I have been having. Can I just ask how long it took for your results to come back? Also, have you been having any symptoms either? I've read that if it says abdmormal cells but you have to wait for a year, it means they'll test you to see if it has gone on its own. If it hasn't, and symptoms persist, I would go back to your GP and push for further examinations. Unfortunately a our age the risk of things are lower which means they may not take things seriously. 
     

    Hopefully your results mean there isn't anything to worry about. 
     

    I am already so anxious to get my results back but I am here if you ever need to talk as I know it's hard at our age.
