Hi all

I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer at the end of June.  Not something I expected, I thought it was piles!

I had my PICC line fitted today and go in tomorrow to start my (fortnightly) FOLFOX chemo, scheduled for 3 months.

Initially I was a bit down about it all (my dad passed from Bowel cancer that had spread to his Liver), but I'm feeling more positive now treatment is starting, particularly wher have read on these forums of people who are doing (very) well.

I'll keep you posted.

  • Hi Andy,

I too have just been diagnosed but with Rectal Cancer and after MRI, ct and biopsy I have an apt on 27/08 with my surgeon for results. I know my tumour is large and I'm anticipating a later stage diagnosis.  Like you, I'll feel relieved once treatment starts and I know what the plan is.

It'd be good to keep in touch as we're at a similar stage, we can share tips and help each other through.

I lost my younger sister to anal cancer 3 years ago so like you I have experienced a lot of this before.

Anyway, keep me posted as to how you're doing.

I hope today went well for you :-)
