Lymphoma

Hi,

This is my first post.
im a mummy to two little boys.
Back in January 2017 I discovered a small lump in my groin. I went to the GP and was told to wait 3 months and come back if it hadn't gone.
I returned as after 3 months it had doubled in size. The doctor told me it was a hernia and to leave it. That July I met my now fiancée who asked what the lump was. In the September it had grown to the size of a tennis ball. My partner insisted I returned to the GP as I'd started getting really bad night sweats and was losing weight. The GP ordered an ultrasound which once again was misdiagnosed as a hernia.

in the January I went back again and saw a different doctor, who immediately referred me to a specialist. I was diagnosed with non Hodgkins Lymphoma. I had several more scans and a bone marrow biopsy. I had radiotherapy which has shrunk the lump significantly.
my final PET Scan 4 weeks ago revealed a thyroid lump which I have since had a biopsy taken of.
im waiting for the results of this and feeling anxious.

  • Hello PangurBan and welcome to the forum.

I was sorry to hear about all that you've been through over the past few years. It's good to hear that the radiotherapy shrank the lump significantly.

I think it's natural that you're feeling anxious about your recent biopsy especially given everything that has happened previously.

I wonder if you might find it helpful to talk things through with one of our team of nurses? If you'd like to chat with them then you can call them on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for your biopsy results. Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
