    HI Jojo,

Welcome to our forum. I am so sorry to hear about your referral, but want to assure you that the way you are feeling is perfectly normal. This will improve once you know what you are dealing with, but it is so hard to deal with the unknown. Unfortunately, this leads to our heads running away with us.

You should get your appointment at the breast clinic within 2 weeks.

The two best things that you can do whilst waiting are to avoid going on the internet and, keeping yourself busy to distract yourself from the wait.

Fortunately, only one person in eight referred to the clinic will get a cancer diagnosis. The other thing to hold on to is that not all lumps are cancerous. You may have something like a cyst instead.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

Here's hoping for a favourable result!

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine thank you for your reply.  I have been in touch with my local hospital who have told me I won't get seen until September sometime, which put me in panic mode.

I have an appointment at a private clinic on Thursday for a consultation as I really can't wait till September as I am sooo scared and worried and feel sick all the time.

Only found the lump on friday with no pain, but today I am experiencing dull aches back and shoulders  not sure if this is anxiety causing this?

Its such a scary time and struggling to cope xx

    Hi Jojo,

I know exactly what you mean about your anxiety and, am glad to hear that you have managed to get a private appointment so soon.

It is quite common for us all to feel additional aches and pains whilst waiting for a diagnosis, but fortunately, these are usually attributed to anxiety.

Do please let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
