  • Hello Mags

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer this February 2020, and had a full hysterectomy in March just before lockdown!! Then started chemo as soon as was healed. I know exactly what you are going through & probulary how you are feeling, especially with covid around as well. Any questions just ask

  • Really sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Could I ask about your symptoms? I've been to the doctors around 8 times in the last 14 months. I have daily booting, bad gas, indigestion twice a month, I go to the toilet usually once a day and stools are loose, just a few days ago developed a shooting pain in my pelvis. They keep saying it's IBS. Serum c protein was negative for inflammation, bloods normal but no examination. I'm so worried from peoples stories I'm being misdiagnosed with IBS

  • Hi Mags

Sorry for delay in answering you for some reason the alert was not sent through to me!

My symptoms started Last September not this year.  I started getting a pain in my lower back on right side that would shoot round to my groin like a knife going in me!! then going down my leg.  Doctors told me it was trapped nerve& to rest it. The pain went on & on with many visits to Dr. In the end January this year I took hubby with me & we insisted it be checked out. Sent to A&E they did ultra sound but said I had fibroids. Pain contiued then February I again went to Dr said needed checking out as pain was so bad I had trouble walking. Sent me to Gynae, he did internal with wand said Fibroids. I left it a week & phoned lost it on phone saying want something done.  Sent me to Cancer Gynae specialist who sent me for 3D scan & she confirmed I had a mass between my left Ovarie & major vien to bladder etc.  She confirmed she thought it was cancer.  Booked me in for full hysterectomy.  I too thought mine was IBS for years as I would bloat when stressed.

  • My advice would be keep pushing the Dr's to get it sorted & checked out. Nothing was found with smear tests always had them & always came back clear.  Had loads of ultra scans & internal wand which did not find the cancer.  If I had not kept on hassleing the Dr's & pushing to get it sorted I would still be here with the cancer growing inside me!! They only found mine with the 3D scan.  All my bloods came back within tolerance of passing ca125 = 17.
