Uterine polyps suspected

Hello I would like to introduce myself ,

I'm 43 yrs and been experiencing symptoms of early menopause for 7 mths now ( missed periods,  spotting, hot flushes, bad mood swings along with throbbing legs and back ache ), my Dr did blood test and it identified I was perimenapausal,

(I had a smear test about 2 mths ago which came back fine),

My dr advised me to have a marina coil fitted and to start HRT patches, my appointment for the coil was last week, the nurse attempted to fit the coil but couldn't due to what she thought  was a polyp, her actual words were "its hard black polyp"

So I've been refered , and I'm scared stiff, I thought polyps were more flesh coloured and I keep thinking why wasnt it noticed when I had the smear.

Feeling very anxious , some thoughts would be greatly appreciated please xx

  • Hello Lor76,

I hope you won't have to wait too long for your appointment. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important results. It's good news though that your smear came back fine.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
