Post menopausal bleeding

I had post menopausal bleeding last year after no period for over 2 years and had a scan  biopsy . Results were a thickened lining of 8mm but no action taken . About 4 days ago I started with a little bleed just when wiping after the loo . Now it just looks like abit of something on the bottom of the toilet pan every time I go , like bits of tissue I suppose . I rang my GP this morning and have been referred again . The only thing is I've had abit of back pain not much and a week or so ago my breasts were in agony , as if I was pre menstruatal? I suffer abit from anxiety and this has really set me off . Has anyone had this ? Quite scared , thanks

  • Hi Helen and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry about the symptoms you're experiencing at the moment but I'm glad your GP has referred you for further investigation.

I know this all seems rather scary but fingers crossed everything will be o.k and you'll get good results.

Hopefully some of our members who have had similar will offer their support and advice to you soon and help keep your nerves and anxiety at bay.

    Kind regards,

  • HI Helen

I had some thing similar which kick started in November 2019 was referred by my GP on a 2 week referral...in my case has a smaller bleed as you mentioned in my case after almost 20 years I had a referral made on a possibility of cancer, I have to say things moved fast, I didn't have any pain more feeling exhausted and tired no matter how much sleep I had, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and had the tumour removed along with full hysterectomy Jan 2020, underwent chemo 6 rounds, am not the greatest person for needles etc and all that follows but the main thing is get back to your GP as for a referral if that hasn't happened, do not be anxious, take one appointment at a time, I had a great oncology team and cancer team in place, nothing was to much for them, even during the Covid-19 pandemic, my treatment still went ahead, maybe just lucky lol on that one, being part of this forum does help even of you are simply reading what others go through.

Sorry response was long winded, hopefully you will be fine, but keep chasing up for that appt or referral to diagnose the symptoms you have had.
