Inflamatory Breast cancer ?Breast clinic appointment

This is a duplicate post as I posted in the wrong forum

In April   when showering the water hit my right breast it hurt this ,   lasted for 2 showers,  me being me and what else to do in lockdown,  tested the breast,  put the shower on jet wash,  hot enough to clean anything on this planet nothing at all no pain , did this every hour few weeks later hot red patch on same breast , lasted for 2 days then vanished

Few weeks ago swollen right armpit, went the doctors was told a lump  4cm by 7 cm in armpit    refered to the breast clinic next week   to be honest came out stunned ,    I have looked at my breast more times these past few days then I have in 56 years   I've googled everything   wished  I hadn't   , I've felt them measured them   photographed them , bounced them   even put the offending breast on me kitchen worktop next to an orange to say I've examined them is an understatement   I've excavated them , wonder I've not broken a rib   found nothing , my underarm is now sore and swollen,  no surprise really , a friend of mine as been checking them  on a regular basis   says it's the best job he's had in years

So roll on next friday  when I'm checked,  yes I am worried,  but better to have been the Doctors and find out,   than do nothing , worry can make us worse,  we can imagine signs symptoms that are not there because we are thinking about them. Help is out there   you can pick up the phone and ring help lines , they do listen and it helps , I've phoned 3 times   helped me greatly. So fingers crossed xx

Ps please don't google , you will end up with every disease known to man

  • Sorry to read your post

do you see the swelling/lump under your arm ? Or can you just feel it?

  • Hi , I it can be felt not seen , armpit swollen but gone down since I've seen the Doctor , so not a clue what that means , no lymph nodes are up in my armpit shoulder area  or neck

    Hi Chell,

I am so sorry to hear about your symptoms, but you know that you are doing the right thing in getting this investigated. If you are feeling the area overmuch, it will become sore. Try examining yourself in the bath or shower with plenty of soap on. This is a much gentler way of examining yourself.

This is a worrying time, partly because, at the moment there are so many unknowns. You will find that it becomes easier when you know exactly what you are dealing with and, what is going to be done about it.

You are quite right about Google. It doesn't do us any favours and, most of us end up thinking the worst and, scaring ourselves stiff. Try to steer clear of it if you can. You will find the team at the breast clinic are very helpful and, will try to put you at your ease. You are unlikely to get your results for 1-2 weeks after your first appointment.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
