My breast lump results came back begnin. Maybe it's my health anxiety but I am scared it has missed something I can't stop there is there because the lump is 4cms
This is an interesting question and I am sure that there are occasions when something is missed. However this is extremely rare and, not likely to happen with a fibroadenoma, which has been tested and found to be benign. If your consultant had the slightest suspicion of a phyllodes tumor, you would have been told this.
All cancers are individual, so the size of your lesion doesn't make it something else. Your consultant is an expert in cancer diagnostics and, if s/he had non-specific results or suspected anything else, you would have been given further tests. Did you have any other tests as well as your biopsies? Biopsies are usually very accurate and, other tests done along with these, correborate the results.
It sounds as if you have scared yourself by consulting 'Dr Google'. This is never a good idea, as the information can be incorrect, poorly researched, out of date and aimed at the spectacular. It is only natural to try and find out more, but please try to avoid looking things up, as you will only scare yourself unnecessarily.
With a benign fibroadenoma, there will be no need for urgency with your operation. Please be grateful that you don't have to wait for surgery where there is an urgency. You are not being abandoned here, you will be checked out again in a few months.
I have never had to deal.with an issue like this before and I am.only 31 so I was scared. and yes I am grateful and I had an ultrasound and boipsy. I tend to think the worst .
This is always a scary situation, especially when you are waiting for results, as there are so many unknowns. Many of us tend to think the worst whilst we are waiting, so the way that you are feeling is perfectly normal.
Having had these 2 tests, you should be reassured that both have shown up nothing untoward. I sincerely hope that this continues to be your diagnosis.
