Hi, i hope someone can help. I had my left thyroid removed 4 weeks ago and unfortunately found out it was cancer last week (they couldn't say for certain from the biopsy before surgery).
my doctor has given me the choice to have the right side removed and basically I'm finding it very hard to make the choice!! Having no thyroid comes with certain health risks
and doctor has assured me the cancer was contained in the left side but I just can't help thinking what if!
obsviously if there was any doubt it had spread I wouldn't hesitate and niether would my doctor but I just can't shake this bad feeling. I don't want to have more surgery then idodine treatment if I don't have too but on the other hand is it worth the risk?
I hope this makes sense as my mind is going at a million miles an hour and I hope someone can help that has been in a similar situation xx
