Hi guys,
I really hope this isn't inappropriate for me to post in here.
Im a 32 year old woman and ive been suffering with UNBELIEVABLE itching for 3.5 months now. It can present sporadically to the body but the worst affected areas are my face and lower legs / feet.
Ive almost self-diagnosed myself as suffering allergies (which I've never had before in my life!) But my GP has gone along with it and been prescribing me antihistamines / dermacool creams etc. No relief with anything.
I find my itching is worse at night - it really impacts on my sleep and this has been affecting the quality of my life. (Also to add, definitely not scabies !).
A period of about 6 weeks ago I actually started to think
symptoms were improving for about 1-2 weeks but then back with a vengeance.
Today I could take no more and again contacted the GP. Today was the first time I was asked about a family background in cancer. I explained that my older brother (now 35) was diagnosed with testicular cancer at 21, and then Hodgkins Lymphoma at 27. The GP advised with my brother having had HL it was best to get routine bloods. Now he has stressed his main concern now is B12 or Iron deficiency but still it's played on my mind all day.
I don't want to contact my brother and ask anything incase it gets passed onto the parents, and there's all the panic etc. I just wondered has anyone had this intense itch pre cancer diagnosis ? Or has anyone been diagnosed with HL after a sibling ? Will generic/routine bloods highlight anything that could indicate a cancer ?
I have zero lymph gland enlargement, and that's what I most remember my brother suffering with alongside night sweats. I cannot recall any itching etc.
Any advice at all really appreciated xxx
