Swollen Lymphnode in Armpit

Hi,

I went to my GP a few months back because I found a small moveable lump in my right armpit. I was put on antibiotics in case it was a cyst and then my doctor examined me a few weeks later as no change. She said it didn't feel like a lymph node and thought it was thickening breast tissue and she wanted to refer me to the breast clinic. She said she wasn't concerned but just as a precaution.

The waiting list is at least 4 months so I paid to have a private consultation yesterday. The consultant felt both breasts and under my arm pit (along with my neck) and said she could feel one small swollen lymph node but was in so way concerned, she also said both breast felt fine. She re assured me that the one swollen node wasn't overly large but could stay permanently that size but not to worry....

everything I read online says a swollen node should shrink in size and if it doesn't then it's a bad sign - does anyone have any advice on this?

many thanks
