Biopsy result over phone

Hi,

I am new to the forum . I have had a biopsy from a soft tissue cyst . I have had a phone call telling me that I have a telephone appointment next Friday . I appreciate that it is probably a phone appointment because of Covid . Has anybody else been given bad news over the phone at one of these kind of appointment. 
I am struggling enough  with the wait and do not think I will cope with being told over the phone .

    Hi Padulica,

    Welcome to our forum. These are strange times with the current pandemic. Most surgeons prefer to give bad news face-to-face, but there are some (even pre Covid), who still deliver this news over the phone or by letter.

    The one good thing about getting your results like this, is that you can have someone with you to offer support, whereas this is not always possible in hospitals at present.

    This is always a worrying time. Only 1 person in every 8 referred will be diagnosed with cancer.

    I'm waiting for my biopsy results too which will be given over the phone so I know how you are feeling. Its helping so much being able to talk on here with people who have been and are going through it. It's what is keeping me sane at the moment.

    Hi Padulica,

    Try to keep yourself as busy as you can this week to help distract you from the wait. This doesn't all have to be work - do some fun things too. If you biopsy is of your cyst, here's hoping that all is quite ok.

    Try to be as brave as you can and, if possible, have someone with you when you get your results.
