  • Hello KerryAN

Welcome to the forum although I'm sorry to hear the news that brings you here.

It's good to hear that you have such a supportive family and that the Divas are keeping you company. I'm sure that they have been a great source of support and cheer to you over hte past few months.

We've got a really active group of ladies here on the forum who have been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and I'm going to suggest that you might want to post on the thread that they all chat on and introduce yourself. You can read the post recent posts on the thread here. I'm sure that they will say Hello! and share their experiences and advice with you.

If there's anything that you'd like to talk to our nurses about then please do give them a call. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Sending best wishes for your second chemo this week.

  • Hi KerryAN

I'm also in Scotland and was diagnosed 2 years ago with bilateral DCIS, invasive ductal and invasive Lobular.  I did not need chemo so just rads and hormone drugs for me. Sorry that the cold cap doesn't seem to be working, think its a bt of hit and miss. Good that you have family and dogs there to support you, have you looked to see if there are any local support groups near you? Breast Cancer Now also have a 'buddy' system in place that matches you with someone in the same situation, have'nt used it myself so don't know how good it is but there are loads of breast cancer ladies on here to support you too. ‍ [@Chriss][@Jolamine]‍

  • Hi Kerry...

Welcome to our little chat place .. where you'll find lots of us in the same boat .. I had a grade three breast cancer in July 2017 and a total right masectomy...  and I came on here like you, just looking for others that knew how I felt ... no matter how we look at things, it's scary at times ...

I found others on her , about another 6 /7 going through breast cancers ... all different stages and treatments... but we kept in touch .. and one lass , Sandra started a thread called the good and bad ...

If you see it, it charts lots of our journeys through ... and includes good times and bad ... but lately most of the originals have gone back to their life post cancer.... and only come on occasionally...

But it still does the rounds ... so feel free to jump in or even start your own thread /blog like others have done on here ... but all those I started with , are still here ... and one lass had a beautiful baby and expecting another one ... so there are good endings too ... we just hear the sad ones on t.v ...

And a few newer ones too , like @Magpiemaggie  ... where we can call each other when needed ..

Sending you a vertual hug.... Chrissie xx
