Swollen lymph nodes

I have had swollen lymph nodes for a few weeks now.

It started in the right side of my neck (I had to take my necklace off it swelled that bad), it then started between my neck and shoulder (don't know the name for that area). I then noticed a lump on the back of my neck/top of my spine, not sure if this is related. And then I got swelling on the left side between my neck and shoulder. I also have a swollen collar bone on my right side and my right breast also seems to be a little larger than it used to be and than the left side.

I have had no symptoms of cold or flu, so I think I can rule out infection!

I am constantly tired, I've lost appetite (turning down my favourite tea) and could of possibly lost weight (I don't weigh myself)

but I am now picking up on the slightest thing. I have since noticed that under my chin seems swollen! And also under my armpits.. but it could probably be my brain just driving me crazy!!

I don't want to go to the doctors and cause a fuss over nothing, so I am going to hold off on going. But, like anyone, I googled my symptoms and it was bringing up like suspected lymphoma etc..

I did mention this to my doctor on a telephone appointment, and they just said to see how it gets on.

  • Hiya ,

    Theres a few things

    1) infections can occur without actual cold symptoms and our body fight alot of things you wouldn't even know about

    2) could you have picked up coronavirus at all? I've seen a lot of people say that they had no symptoms but swollen glands

    3) it is common to find things minor things when you are worried and you pick up every tiny detail eith your body

I too have what I believe are swollen lymph nodes in my neck, above my collarbone and armpit as does my 19 month old son !! I have no infection bloods confirmed, apparently they see just palpable but my brain is struggling to accept this and I am pushing to find out why because I can feel quite a few. No bigger than a CM but it feels quite big in my armpit maybe 1-1.5 cm.

If your nodes do not go down over the course of two weeks, (dont touch in mean time) please please make an appointment in would ask doctor to at least take bloods in mean time then ask for a scan if not gone in a week or two. Odds are its nothing but it's best to be safe and you are not wasting anybody's time - they would rather you checked x

  • Hi becks

Thank you so much for replying!

It is so hard not to overthink things isn't it! I find myself constantly googling looking for reassurance that it's nothing, which I'm sure it is!

Hope you and your son get some answers soon and both end up all clear!

let me know how you get on.

  • I'm in the same boat, with two swollen lymphnodes in my neck along with a bunch of other symptoms but none of the most common ones associated with something like lymphoma.

My doctor has seen one, and put it down as reactive implying I've got some kind of infection or virus, but I don't think that's the case. They've told me to wait until the end of the month and come back if it's still there, but since then I've found a second one.

Please don't do nothing in fear of what you might find or what the doctors might think. Your health is far to important and they will likely reassure you or point you in the direction of what it could be!

  • Hi WhoopieMonster

    Thank you for your reply.
I think like you, I will see how things are at the end of the month and maybe then see the doctor if nothing has changed. I just can't stop my mind from working overtime and overthinking things and I constantly finding myself googling!

Hope you get some answers soon and find out what's going on. X
