Hi Ebonybowler,
A very warm welcome to our forum, although I’m sorry for the reason that you’ve joined us. Please don’t delay seeing your GP for the sake of embarrassment. Doctors deal with these symptoms all the time and think nothing of it. You are young to be having these problems, but sadly, there is still a possibility that there might be something untoward there.
If one is unfortunate enough to get a cancer diagnosis, the sooner it is diagnosed and treatment starts, the better the outcome is likely to be. It is difficult to get a face-to-face appointment with GPs at present, due to the current pandemic. Surgery and treatment have also suffered due to this and, fortunately, they are now trying to get services back on a more even footing. Phone your GP tomorrow, Tell the receptionist that you need an urgent appointment and why and she will then fit you in as soon as she can. Your GP can still decide to see you face-to-face if s/he deems this necessary.
I do hope that you will be referred to the breast clinic for tests, as this is the only way to diagnose/disprove the presence of anything sinister. You may find that you tend to be dismissed because of your tender age, but please stick to your guns and, make sure that you are not overlooked. This can happen with younger people and, as a result any tumours can become far more advanced.
I sincerely hope that nothing untoward is found, but you are certainly better to be safe rather than sorry.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 11 years and, am always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
