Lump when laying down

Hi all.....just wondering if anyone could offer any advice. I've found what I think appears to be a lump / mass I'm my left breast. I can only feel this when laying down...so unsure if it's anything to worry about as your always told to  check in the shower. I'm not even sure if there is anything there really but it feels completely different to my right side. I'm 37, cancer does run in our family my mum has had breast cancer( now fully recovered) and my aunt passed away from cervical cancer). Its hard to get in my doctors normally....but virtually impossible with covid. I just dont fancy going to docs to be told I'm imagining something there!! Anyone any similar experiences...Tia! X

  • Hi..I think it's always best to speak/see your Dr, then that will give you some reassurance/answers. They will hopefully be able to see you more quickly and definitely get it checked out. I found a lump at start of June and went straight to the Drs and glad that I did. They saw me the same day and I was referred to breast clinic to get everything checked.

    Hi Elle,

I am just another cancer pilgrim and not a doctor, so I cannot tell you whether or not your symptoms are anything to worry about.

My mum died from secondary breast cancer and I have many relatives and friends who have also had cancer. I was diagnosed 11 years ago and had a second primary in the same breast the following year.

With your family history and your recent symptoms, I would strongly advise you to get this checked out.

It should be easier to get an appointment with your GP now, when routine appointments are not being carried out due to Covid 19. If you tell your GP's receprionist why you need an urgent appointment, you should be seen quite quickly. Doctors are doing mostly telephone consultations, but they will give you a face-to-face appointment if they deem it necessary. So what if you're told that you're just imagining things - much better to be safe than sorry.

Do please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

I've got my fingers crossed that all goes well for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
