My right breast

Hi all.

Hope you are all well and keeping safe during these unprecedented times we've been having.

id like to ask for some advice: it all starts with my right breast.

my right breast has been a topic of convo for about 4 months now, in February I had bloody nipple discharge the doctor put it down to an infection and it cleared up, however I still had clear fluid coming from it every now and then.
I have been very conscious of my breast since, and for months I have had what I can only describe as pins and needles / tingles in it. I've never been able to localise it (until now). The pain / irritation is always there, I called my GP she said to keep an eye on it.
so during Covid I have kept an eye on it and every other day commented on how strange my breast feels. It also feels like the skin is puckered, but when I look at it it isn't. I can only describe it as I feel like my breast is collapsing inside.

This has went on for months - finally I was in bed the other day and felt a hard lump in my breast. I got scared and then I couldn't feel it again. I told my mum the next day who felt it and she confirmed. So I got an appointment at the GP and got examined. If I'm honest I was expecting him to say he couldn't find anything so I was shocked when he found it straight away. I now have an appointment with the breast clinic next Monday and I'm so anxious.

Im just curious to any ladies that have had breast cancer, did yous feel / experience these symptoms too?
I'm 27, healthy, but have a family history of breast cancer, all cases of breast cancer in my family are age 25-44 very young.

im preparing for the worst, as I just know in my heart that something isnt right.

thanks in advance

stay safe xxx

  • Hello,

I'm really sorry your going through this, my symptoms aren't the same but I didn't want to just read and run.

The lump.you feel could be a cyst or a lipoma so I know it's much easier said than done but try not to worry - I really should take my own advice!

Ive had tenderness in my armpit on and off for around 18 months now, it's usually accompanied by tenders breasts, I was sent to the breast clinic in January and they found extra breast tissue in my armpit. the tenderness has worsened over the past 2 months so my GP wants to see me again for a review, I'm seeing her on tuesday!

Let us know how you get on at the breast clinic and im  keeping everything crossed that it's nothing worrying for you xx

  • Hey thank you for your reply!! I have armpit tenderness too it feels like a pulling, I have no lump there that I can feel but it’s definitely tender. Oh god please let me know how things go for you on Tuesday! Will be thinking of you!! Thank you I will let you know. I’m very anxious about it it seems to be all I can think about, but I think that’s normal isn’t it?! Xxx
  • I know how you feel, I'm worried all over again now, even though 6 months ago ultrasound showed nothing to worry about, normal lymph nodes etc just extra breast tissue which is quite common apparently I'm worried again too!

    Will keep.you posted xx

    Hi Vlh,

I'm sorry to hear about your symptoms, but glad to hear that you have seen your GP and have an appointment at the breast clinic tomorrow. I have had three different lumps in my breasts in the past 11 years - Two of them were canncerous. I was always very aware of the lumps, but didn't have a pins and needle type of sensation. However, perhaps others have had this and if so, I hope that they will reply to you.

I do hope that all goes well for you tomorrow.
Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
