Lump in breast and painful and swollen shoulder and arm

Hi im new and hoping someone could help

iv previously had lumps in my breasts investigated and turned out to be cysts about 2 years ago which I was very relieved

in February I noticed a new lump and just thought oh it probably another cyst and it has grew to the size of around a golf ball and then a month ago I started with pain on my shoulder neck and shoulder blade and just thought I had slept funny tried everything I possibly could to make it go away but nothing and then on Saturday my arm was really swollen. I didn't really want to go to doctors but I was in agony and I mentioned to my gp about the lump in my breast he says my lymph node are being blocked by this lump and has referred my too the breast cancer clinic  starting to get very anxious

  • Hello Keewee05

I'm sirry to hear that you've recently developed a problem with a lump which has caused other symptoms. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things and we know that many members here will know just how worrying it can be waiting for appointments.

Try tob take things a day at a time and remember that the majority of women who attend breast clinic aren't diagnosed with breast cancer.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for your appointment but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses in the meantime then you're welcome to give them a call. I'm sure they would be able to offer some support and reassurance. You can call them on 0808 800 4040 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm).

    Best wishes,
