New to the Group: had lumpectomy now waiting to start chemo

Hello, I had lumpectomy surgery 4 weeks ago for a lump in my breast and the removal of lymph nodes. Keeping up with the exercises and getting more flexibility in my arm each day.   Now waiting to start Chemo, not something I'm looking forward to particularly with Covid 19 around.  Good luck to everyone else.  I live in Whitstable, if there is  anyone  locally who going through similar it would be great to reach out to each other.

  • Hello Jane and a big welcome to our friendly forum!

I hope you won't mind I have slightly edited your title so that other ladies here who have had a similar diagnosis and experience can spot your post more easily and share their own experiences with you. It sounds like you are doing amazingly 4 weeks post surgery and it's great you are keeping up with the exercises and noticing you are getting more flexibility in your arm every day. Onwards and upwards!

I hope everything goes well with your chemotherapy sessions - I can imagine it is stressful with Covid19 around. To help you prepare for it, I thought I would share this page from our website on chemotherapy for breast cancer. We also have useful general information on chemotherapy here which I hope will be helpful to read ahead of your first appointment.

Best of luck with your treatment! I hope everything goes well for you.

    Best wishes,
