My 87 year old dad has just been for an endoscopy due to weight loss dysphagia and feeling full all the time.
it confirms the rare LP stomach cancer
We are all devastated
Can anyone advise us on this and what experience they have ?

Hello Reetz25,
Welcome to our forum! I am so sorry to hear your dad has been diagnosed with this rare type of stomach cancer, linitis plastica. I can imagine it must be a real shock for you and your dad's family and it must be difficult for you I imagine to get all the information you need at the moment on this rare cancer. You can find out more about linitis plastica of the stomach on this page and if you had any questions for our nurses at any time, you can give them a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
I hope that you will also meet some of our other members who have also been affected by linitis plastica and that they will be along shortly to share their experiences with you. I've done a little search on the forum for you and have found a couple of recent posts which might be of interest to you. For example, you will find on this thread that [@scaredrelative] 's uncle has also been diagnosed with linitus plastica and [@Kellie13] also had a similar experience after her mum was diagnosed. There is also this thread by [@Josieann29] which may be useful to you - don't hesitate to respond to any thread or post on the subject you feel you would like to engage with.
I hope you find out more soon about what the next steps will be for your dad. We're all here for you anytime you want to chat!
Best wishes,
Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
