Lump under arm (axillary)

Hi,

I just wanted some advice really. As I don't want to waste medical time or appointments.
last year may 2019 I had a core biopsy, as I foun a lump in my left breast. Thankfully this turned out to be fibroidenomatoid.

however this year March 2020 I found my left lymph node (axillary area) was swollen. I spoke to the doctor and she confirmed I did have a lump but didn't want to do further tests as of yet as covid was at its "peak". However I have also noticed it changes the week of my period, it goes down in size, but as soon as my period is over, increases in size again.

I am only 23, I have 2 children, so I worry for their sake. The chances of it being sinister is extremely unlikely due to my age.
But I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced lymph node changes, and what is best to do really.

  • Hi Garratt and welcome to the forum.

It's good you've already got in touch with a doctor about this but as it's still playing on your mind and you keep noticing changes do be sure to go back.

If you have more than one doctor at your surgery, you could try speaking to a different one to get a second opinion. You can find out more just here.

    Kind regards,
