Should I be concerned

I have 2 lumps near my groin I am 15 years old and unsure wether it's a cyst or if it's cancerous they have both popped and let out blood but have not gone away I don't know if I should be worried or not or if I need to see a doctor

    Hi Toby,

Welcome to our forum. I am sorry to hear about your symptoms. I sincerely hope that, at your age, this is nothing serious. Have you discussed this with your parents? This should be the first thing to do. After that, you should certainly consult your GP to see what s/he thinks. I know that it is difficult to see your GP in these unprecedented times. They are mostly doing telephone consultations,  but if they think that there is a need for a face-to-face consultation they will give you one.

Do please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that nothing unprecedented is found.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • I have not been to a doctor yet but here some more information on one you can't feel a lump under the surface so I believe it's just healing on the surface now and it feels like the other one is starting to get smaller should I still be concerned now they are healing or will it be fine to leave them alone?

  • Nobody here can tell you. As already advised, please see your GP.

    HI Toby,

I agree with City Girl. All cancers are individual to the person who has them, so there is no way that anyone can tell whether or not there is anything to worry about, without carrying out some tests.

Cancer is always more manageable when it is caught early. This is why I would still advise you to have a word with your GP.

Here's hoping that all is OK. You're certainly better to be safe than sorry.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Thank you all for your advice I built up the courage and told my mum I will have an appointment on Monday for an examination

    thank you all x

    Hi Toby,

I'm so glad to hear that you have told your mum. As a mum myself, I would be quite upset if my son didn't confide in me about something like this. I am glad to hear that you will have an appointment on Monday and, hope that there is a simpler explanation instead of cancer.

Do please let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • My appointment has now been rearranged to a different date although both lumps feel like they have almost deflated and I can't even feel one and they other feels very small so the lumps are both really only on the surface and top of the skin should I still be concerned?

    Hi Tony,

I am glad to hear that your lumps have reduced in size. What do you and your mum think about still seeing your GP? I am not a doctor, but I reckogn that It will probably help to put your mind at ease if you do still see him, just to rule out anything sinister.

I hope that you don't have too long to wait for your rescheduled appointment.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • I had a phone call with the doctor and sent him the pictures of them as we couldn't go in due to corona virus and they will look at them and hopefully get back to me about it it's fine or if I need to go in person for a further look

    Hi Toby,

I am glad to hear that you have had a chat with your GP. I hope that s/he is happy with your photos and, that there is no need for concern. Did s/he say when they would get back to you? Do please let us know the outcome.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
