It's no problem to ask questions, wish I had discovered this page for support before the process.

I had my surgery done with local anaesthesia, I didn't look at what they were doing I just looked the opposite direction. You don't feel a thing.

They completely removed the nail and did the biopsy in the nail bed all at the same time. I wasn't given any pain relief from the hospital but had to phone my doctor the following day & my husband picked it up for me. 

It is bandaged up with a pressure bandage, I had no stitches but I had to go to my local surgery for a few bandage changed. 

It's quite sore afterwards so be sure to get strong painkillers, over the counter pain relief did nothing for me. 

It is 3 weeks now since I had the surgery done & my nail bed & thumb is sensitive. But everyone will recover in a different way so don't just go by my experience! You may be fine.

I was told it would be 4-6 week wait for my results so I'm still waiting for an appointment for that.

Hi still no biopsy done due to Covid 19. 
 

only get stressed when my fingers n big toe are throbbing.
