Bleeding again

Hi all

I've just joined the forum and hope you can help. I’m 53 this July. I stopped periods at 48. About a year half ago I had bleeding and was sent to hospital for a scan and told everything was normal. 

Today I’ve started to bleed again. I’m unsure what to do. The Covid situation would deter me from seeking medical advice but I know that’s potentially wrong. 

 

Has anyone been kn a similar situation? Feeling very anxious.

    Hi,

    I had the same symptoms. I had my last period about 5 years ago. I am now 55. About 3 years ago I had 2 separate episodes of bleeding. They didn't last long but alarming when you have gone through the menopause. I was referred to the hospital for an ultrasound and hysteroscopy. They said I had fibroids but everything came back clear on both occasions. 
    Then 3 days ago I had brown discharge which after reading is also blood. It only lasted for one day but I had been having pain in the lower left pelvis and back ache. The other really weird thing was I had sire nipples for about a week which have now stopped after the discharge. I phoned the doctor and they told me to take a urine sample in to rule out an infection. It came back clear. But the doctor mentioned that I had had a ct scan about 5 weeks ago on my pelvis and abdomen ( for a separate issue) and showed the fibroids but everything else was clear. 
    I am really panicking as I have a constant dull pain on left side. It's not really bad but it's there. The brown discharge is worrying me even though it has now gone. 
    I am ringing for an appointment again tomorrow to get checked out. I don't know if fibroids can cause all these symptoms?

    Dear Angel Mac, 

    Please get it checked. Insist on a scan. It may be nothing but don't wait.

    Hi  Ceyenne,

    Thank you for commenting on my post. I phoned the doctor today and I am being fast tracked for an ultrasound first so I have to wait for the appointment. Just crossing my fingers it is all related to the fibroids. Very very scared,

    Don't be scared. It's best to do something about it - whatever it is and don't be fobbed off or intimidated by the virus.

    Hi Jacki

    i phoned the doctor yesterday and she said she’s referring me for another scan. It could take 3 weeks due to Covid but might be quicker as this is a red flag. At least I will know then. Thanks for your reply

    You are right. As nervous as I am about it and about visiting a hospital right now I just have to brave it. Thank you for your encouragement xx

    Hi I have just been referred on a 2week pathway as I have been spotting for 5 weeks. Only there when I wipe and brown not red. I am 61 and have been taking HRT for 6 years. I have had a change of HRT because of shortages. I was wondering why would the doctor put me on a 2 week pathway has anyone else had this happen to them. I assumed the 5 week bleed was due to hormones, has anyone else experienced bleeding for 5 weeks continuously, and what was your diagnosis please. Thank you for reading,
