Does the cold cap work?

I am due to have my first session of Chemotherapy in 2 weeks, I am recovering from breast cancer and have been told that the chemo could help prevent the cancer from coming back. 

I just wondered what your experiences are with using the cold cap? I will be having 6 sessions of chemo, 3 EC and 3 Doxetaxel. I would really like to hold on to my hair if at all possible! 

Any tips, stories or advice would be really helpful. X

    Hi Ann1e.

    I had 3 fec and 3 docetaxel I didnt cold cap as it would of delayed my start date as you need a chemo chair for longer but I know 4 people who cold capped and only 1 of those kept a good covered head of hair, the others lost quite a bit .. 2 had to wear wigs/hats as they went patchy and the other ended up shaving her head. it seems everyone is different. 

    my hair started to come out 18 days after my 1st fec and i was completely bald by day 22, good news Is it started to grow back by doxe number 2. I am now 11 weeks post chemo and I have very short hair :happy:
