thyroid and larynx area all swollen

hey everyone.

I have had massive swelling in the middle of my throat (larynx / voicebox / thyroid area for some time) 8 weeks +. Had appointments with doctors and they think it was virus' so had loads of rounds of antibiotics to work out it wasn't that. Then had an examination at the doctors and they think it was definitely swelling from my thyroid and wasn't too concerned so had bloods and an thyroid test to see if it's working properly. Everything came back normal except a high CRP but nothing too high. Told me to come back in 4 weeks and monitor it. This was two weeks ago and now the swelling has got so much worse and I've noticed a small lump in the middle / right of my thyroid area. (Not an expert lol). I'm calling the doctors this week again and I wasn't massively concerned before but now it's got worse and a new lump has appeared combining with swollen lymphnodes in neck and behind ears, mild ear pain sometimes and shallower breathing with mild croaky voice sometimes. I am getting a little worried. It's natural to think the worst but just wondering if anyone can give me advice. I have a gut feeling it is something.

  • Hello Rainbow

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with this ongoing health concern. It would seem sensible to get back in touch with your GP to discuss the changes. They will be best placed to give you some advice or arrange an appointment if necessary.

I do hope that things settle for you soon.

    Best wishes,
