Inverted nipple after total duct removal

Hi - I had the milk ducts of both breasts removed following reddish discharge from left breast and diagnosis of dcis. I was warned that my nipples would b affected and about a year later right nipple sometimes looked inverted. I went to breast clinic and was told it was due to the surgery. Now however inversion is much more pronounced - looks weird. I cannot feel a lump. Should I wait for annual check up in November before bothering gp?

  • Hello Tazzy

Sorry to hear that you've continued to experience some changes in your breast since your surgery. It's probably the sensible option to get this checked sooner rather than later if your annual check up isn't until November as that's another 6 months away. At least you will have some peace of mind if you get this seen now.

Do you have open access to the breast clinic? It may be worth giving the breast care nurse a call in the first instance but if you're unable to get hold of her then do give your GP a call who will be able to help.
    Best wishes,
