Been wanting to write this but always held back for no good reason so here goes!
I am now 80 years young and about 6 years ago I was diagnosed with Lymphoma and treated by NHS. After chemo treatment I was told it wasn’t successful but there was nothing they could do as I was too old and they didn’t have the drugs available.
I had no alternative but to try to find help privately which I did .
The treatment was 5 days of 24 hour chemo followed by 3 weeks in hospital followed by all sorts of complications and then out patient chemo treatment.
just before last Christmas I felt unwell and after a scan was told the the cancer had returned. I went to the private hospital again as a NHS patient.
I am currently about to have my fourth chemo which I am not looking forward to but the doctors have made it clear that they do not hold out much hope for me.
The last doctor told me finish the course but don’t expect to be in remission- you may have 3 to 6 months left.
I can’t accept what they say so please if there is anyone out there who has experienced this before please help me to either come to terms with the diagnosis or fight it.
Apologies for the long story.
Thanks - Jayjay
