Welcome to our forum! I am sorry to hear about this dizziness you have been experiencing after surgery. You did well to talk to the GP about it - I am wondering perhaps whether it might be a good idea to try and speak to your specialist who performed the operation and mentioning that this started happening right after the surgery. Your specialist will also be the best person to talk to about the issues you have been experiencing with Tamoxifen, the sickness, tiredness and period types of pains. 

I hope you manage to find out more soon about this and that you will also hear from others on this forum who have experienced this dizziness after surgery. I have spoken to my oncologist who gave me tablets for vertigo...they did not work.

I have been to a&e twice and to a walk in centre but so far , no help.

I have spoken to my GP several times and i am now waiting for a referral to ENT.

I really am depressed with it...i cannot function as i am constantly dizzy and feel sick, so i spend a lot of time lying down which makes me feel guilty because it is not me.

I wonder if Tamoxifen are making my symptoms work so i am going to change the time i take them from evening to afternoon.

I know it's over a year ago but I wondered if the dizziness ever went? I'm 6 weeks after mastectomy, still giddy/unstable and tired. Gets worse later in day but GP didn't seem to know why. I'm not on tamoxifen yet, been promised possibly.

Did the Tamoxifen make it worse? Was it an ear problem? Did they fix it and are you okay now?

I have not been on this site for a while now :) 

OK, well I ended up having a mental breakdown which really knocked me about and I was having constant suicidal thoughts.

Lockdown meant that my GP would not see me so I was constantly on the telephone crying and begging him to stop this dizziness.

I ended up taking citalaprom and coming off Tamoxifen for 4 weeks, at the advice of my wonderful, understanding breast care team and Oncologist.

I then started to feel a little better each day and I still take Citalaprom, and have another 4 years of Tamoxifen.

I still get dizzy and feel sick, but its not half as bad as it was.

I ended up just thinking that I had to live with it and not let it take over my life.

Is it getting you down?

Sorry I forgot to tell you, I went to ENT and they said I was fine and I had an MRI on my ears and that was fine too.

I don't know what it is...Are you on the menopause??

Did you have a Mastectomy??

Yes I had a mastectomy, 6 weeks ago.

My dizziness isn't really that bad just worrying. I don't have nausea or head-aches or vomitting just I am unbalanced - sometimes grab furniture but haven't actually fallen over. It kind of feels like I'm on a boat. Occasionally I feel like I'm going to faint but haven't actually fainted.

Doctor is phoning on Wed,, maybe she'll send me to ENT.

I'm not on Tamoxifen yet cos they did a menopause test which came out positive (yippeee!) but I think the doctor maybe is waiting for the 3 month appointment in August. God only knows why cos breast cancer can come back at any time, but atleast I haven't got hormone tablet symptons yet! Don't know if I'll even take them because the aromatose inhibitors they may put me on can damage your bones. I'm only 52 and don't want osteoperosis thank you very much. Or any of the other issues connected with a complete blocking of all oestrogen. I look about 40 and i want ot stay that way, even though I now know that the reason I look so good is probably lots of oestrogen which also took away my breast... Was on the pill for years and only changed over to progesterone only pill at 50.

Mine is more light headedness than dizziness and I can tell you that although my reply to you yesterday sounded a bit negative,  I am doing fine now.

I am 50 and I think that the balancing is hormonal, it doesn't happen all the time now and it really is early days for you.

You need to be kind to yourself and if you're tired, then rest.

If you are advised to take Tamoxifen then I would at least try it.

Try and let your body settle down after surgery, it takes time
